1. Be realistic about your English learning goals. do not expect your english to be as good as that of a native speaker soon after taking up the language. It takes time.
2. Practice speaking as well, not just reading and listening. While reading and listening can help you learn a lot about the language, the only way to speak better English is by speaking it your self.
3. Practice speaking
When ever you get a chance. Do not pass up a chance to speak English when ever one arises.
4. Do not be afraid of making mistakes
Mistakes are part of learning; they help you know where you need to make improvement to become a better English speaker.
5. Read your favorite books a loud
Reading a loud will improve your confidence and enhance your flow when speaking in other situations_ .
YOU NEED EXPERIENCE FIRST, NOT MONEY
12 years back I did computer works both in cyber cafe, business center and personally at home to acquire experience, that time I don't care about how much you are paying for the work, all that matters to me, is to do the work, some paid, some didn't, believe me some sai dai nace Allah ya isa.
This is my advice to all that are starting a new career, what you need as a novice now is the experience not the money, just do the work even if it is for free, do it.
- I typed projects for free to boost my typing speed.
- I created company websites right from hosting/coding for free to develop my web development skill.
- I did Data entry for free to develop my typing and excel skill.
- I did Logo, Flyers, Banners for free to develop my graphics design skill.
- I did Video Editing for free to develop my Video Editing and animation skill.
I did all these in the past 12 years just to have experience and to develop my skills, but not anymore, and still on it's some times lol.
So note this: is not always about money.
6.Try thinking in English
When you start seeing things and deliberating in English, you will notice and improvement in your speaking skills as well_ .
7. Have confidence whenever you speak
Always speak with confidence as this will improve the rate at which you master the language._
8. Try to learn from everyone
While surrounding your self with people who speak perfect English is a great way to learn, You can also learn from those who make mistakes in their speaking.
9. Practice speaking in front of a mirror
This should be especially handy when preparing for public speaking events as it will boost your confidence.
